CONTRIBUTOR'S GUIDELINES...
Owasippe Issues To Address:
Be you unit leader or camp staff in 2008, how about
sharing with us a "rose" (camp compliment) and a "thorn" (camp complaint)...as well as a constructive idea for improvement.
Consider this the beginning of a critique that would lead to a terrific 2009 camping season.
The type of content I'm looking for would be camp photos, humorous stories, camp factoids and stats, Owasippe history, reports
on camp personalities, letters for the "Sounding Board", statements to the editor, and Calls-To-Action...along with
anything else that suits us. A suggested length for articles would ideally be no more than 3-4 paragraphs in
length. More or less would depend on the subject matter...and is subject to cutting. The format in which I'd
like to have articles is HTML but text files would work OK, too. Pictures should be .JPG or .GIF. And, please, don't use
ALL caps...ouchhhh! My policy on rights is open-ended to allow for free expression, however facts should be confirmed
by at least two sources and opinions should not be of an inflammatory nature but can be challenging. Text should not include
profane or hateful language...as we are, after all, Scouts! Authors can also reprint their work elsewhere. No remuneration
will be forthcoming as contributions are for the good of the order.
